Which VanMoof models qualify?
S, A and X series bikes — S3, X3, S5, A5, S6 and S6 Open. If yours is one of these, the built-in tracking is BackPedal-compatible: no install appointment, 15% discount, and you can sign up from anywhere in the UK.
I ride an older VanMoof — can I still join?
Yes — through the standard flow. For Electrified S/X and other earlier models we fit a covert BackPedal tracker instead: mobile install is currently available in London zones 1–4, and the rest of the subscription (24/7 recovery + Sundays-backed insurance) works exactly the same.
Do I need VanMoof's Ride Pro subscription or Theft Proof service?
You don't need any insurance or theft product sold by VanMoof — theft cover is bundled into your BackPedal subscription, backed by Sundays. What you do need is your bike's tracking working: keep the VanMoof app set up, and maintain any VanMoof subscription that enables tracking on your bike (on newer models, live tracking sits behind Ride Pro). Recovery runs on that tracking, so it needs to stay live.
What about Apple Find My?
Keep it set up — Find My and the VanMoof app work side by side day-to-day. If the worst happens, report the theft to us and our team runs the recovery on the bike's own tracking; if Find My shows a recent location, share it with your handler — every data point speeds up the chase.
