What happens when you report an ebike theft

How quickly does ebike recovery happen?
Once you call the 24/7 hotline, live tracking starts immediately and a recovery agent is typically deployed within the hour. Most successful ebike recoveries happen within 48 hours. Real-time tracker data plus our agents' familiarity with London theft patterns mean we usually have a fix before the ebike reaches its first handover point.
What's the actual recovery rate for ebikes?
We've recovered over 80% of bikes reported stolen across our cover — ebikes specifically run slightly higher than that because they're easier to track (more network connectivity, more identifiable). London commuter ebikes are our strongest-performing segment for recovery.
Are there exclusions on ebike recovery?
No. Recovery has no exclusions — even if you forgot to lock up, left the ebike outside, or had it stolen from inside a building. Insurance exclusions still apply if recovery fails and you claim under the insurance side, but the recovery service runs regardless of how the theft happened.
What if you can't recover my ebike?
Our Sundays-underwritten backup insurance handles the claim for replacement, accessories, battery, and theft damage — subject to standard policy terms. £50 fixed excess (£200 on battery-only claims). The insurance side is rare in practice — most ebike thefts we cover end with the bike returning home.
